Luas Green line stations, Beechwood and Cowper

LUAS 43 PHOTO

The telephoto view from the front of a southbound Luas tram shows the flexible and switchback nature of the Luas track, even here where it was formerly a heavy rail line (the Harcourt Street line). The reason for the pronounced dip in the track was the removal of a low underbridge in the 1970s. The bridge alignment was considered too little for modern road traffic, so the whole lot was removed and the approaches graded downwards.

Note the cycle 'Sheffield' racks for parking and the station information displays.
