O'Brien Road: Vincent O'Brien (1871-1948)

Vincent O'Brien was best known as the first Director of Music at St Mary's Pro Cathedral in Dublin. He was born in Dublin and trained in the Royal Irish Academy of Music, which is still situated in Westland Row. O'Brien taught two legendary Irish singers; Margaret Burke Sheridan and John McCormack. Most Dublin people associate him with the Pro Cathedral Choir.

Not to be confused with his younger namesake was a horse breeder and trainer, born 1917 and died 2009.
