Tipperary station, Ireland; 012 with 15:50 Limerick-Waterford

4 APRIL 1985

Tipperary town station in 1985, with the famous A462 1550 Limerick-Waterford via Limerick Junction. Note the 'S' under 012's number, indicating the engine was fitted with equipment for the Dublin surburban system's signalling. Note the beautiful lattice signals, and the consist being mainly Park Royal carriages. I was lucky to find an 001 class hauling this train - it was scheduled to a 141 class in the 1985 working timetable (despite the train's 'A' headcode, suggesting top link motive power such as the 001 class).
