Phoenix park tunnel, Dublin 2007

RAIL 18 additional PHOTO

Taken on 27 October 2007, this is the Phoenix Park tunnel from platform 10 of Heuston station, providing a contrast to this picture at the same location. The bridge in the middle of the picture straddles the River Liffey; the platform stands where once a parallel ine was located. This location is very good for observing arrivals and departures from Heuston, as well as the occasional goods train going around the Loop line (via Drumcondra and the Phoenix Park Tunnel). The large monument to the right is the Wellington Monument, situated in the Park.
