Preparation work on the Luas extension at Ballyogan Road

For those who have not been to this part of Dublin for some years, Ballyogan Road has greatly changed in the past ten years or so. There are many housing developments, mostly private, and there are apartment blocks too. This area is very convenient to the M50 motorway, offering quick access southbound, and somewhat slower journeys to the city and beyond. The Luas extension will open new possibilities and offer residents reliable journey times to the city. The view looks northwards, and city-bound trams will head up this gradual gradient. This picture was taken on 9 April 2009.
