Track machine towards Dundrum with Taney bridge (Dargan bridge) in background

Compare with Sept. 2002 photo. Much has been done to restore the line at this point. The machine was moving north to work at Dundrum station. While this cutting, and the original trackbed, was made to a larger gauge (5' 3"), it is somewhat ironic that modern practice is to made the embankment wide and more stable, even though the new railway's footprint is substantially smaller!
