October 2003: Luas tram interior

Detail of the Luas Citadis tram, interior, taken during the family open day in October 2003. The upholstery, three years later, still looks remarkably fresh and the interior and exterior of Luas units have suffered few graffiti or vandalism attacks. While Luas is usually packed with customers during the morning and evening peaks, the provision of multiple grab rails makes commuting somewhat easier. The yellow bars inside have been complimented by a yellow stripe on the outside of the trams; these were added during 2006. Photo courtesy Fiona Cassidy ©.
