Floozie in the jacuzzi

This is the best known nickname for this representation of Anna Livia which was situated in O'Connell Street up to about December 2001. While it is a great piece of public art, it seemed to attract a lot of undesirables (usually drunks) who abused its flowing waters and her sculpted form. It has now been removed for 'safe keeping' by the Corporation. I hope they resite it again; this is possible, given Dublin Corporation's enlightened policy on such art. Other local names given to the Floozie included the 'Whore in the sewer', etc.
