dublin boardwalk river liffey halpenny bridge

YOU ARE HERE: BOARDWALK 1 PHOTO

This view shows the newly constructed Boardwalk, looking towards the Halpenny Bridge and the mouth of the Liffey. The river is tidal here; occasionally you can see the bed of the river at very low tide. Water quality has improved in recent years, particularly since it was controlled and regulated (with heavy fine for polluters). Some of the buildings on the left of the photographer have been sold and rebuilt - Dublin is fast loosing its quaintness due to the rush for development. Such buildings should be listed but in practice, many are not.
