Esposito Road: Michele Esposito (1855-1929)

Michele Esposito was an Italian musician who spent most of his working life in Dublin. At the age of 26 he was offered a professorship in piano at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and influenced Irish Classical musical life for another four decades. He was also a composer, conductor and was very instrumental in setting up the RIAM's examinations structure in the island of Ireland, something which is very much alive today. The Feis Ceoil continues to commemorate him with a cup named in his honour.
