General Motors 157 and uid 141 class at Hazlehatch

RAIL 05 PHOTO

This is Hazlehatch, not too far outside Dublin and a favourite haunt of mine. Irish rail 157 and an unidentified 141/181 class are hauling a west- or south-west bound liner in the evening sunshine. It was a good spot to see a procession of evening departures pass, combined with some passenger action. Nowadays Irish Rail has lost so much freight that you have long periods between the passenger trains. One advantage is that the sighting is still good for Dublin-bound trains, particularly if you have a video camera.
