Distant semaphore signal protecting the Waterford-New Ross road

There is quite a lot of detail in this picture; note the busy waterfront scene on the River Barrow as well as the railway interest. The distant for the road crossing is showing clear, but I seem to remember that the crew still had to stop and open the gates manually. The signal is typical of an Irish semaphore distant signal.
