Abbey Junction showing semaphores for the New Ross branch in 1986

This picture was taken from the rear cab of 141 class 149, as it regained the main line at ABbey Junction. The signalling for the New Ross was fully functional in 1986, as were the catch points. The line to the right lead to Wellington Bridge and ultimately Rosslare, and this line was completely closed by Irish Rail in 2010. The line to the right of the pulled semaphore was supposed to be used by Coilte for timber loading, but this never came to fruition.
