Leopardstown Roundabout Luas Bridge, Sandyford, County Dublin

The benefits of building a light rail system in an already populated urban area may be appreciated in this photograph. This is the middle section of the Leopardstown Roundabout Luas Bridge on the Green line's B1 extension, illustrating the flexibility of light rail curvature and the use of of concrete. The new bridge is an elegant solution to crossing a very busy road junction; the next stop, Central Park, is just to the left of the photographer. The photograph was taken at the entrance to Leopardstown Business Park, and is looking north; the approach ramp in the previoius photograph is in the background of this picture, taken on 10 April 2009. Note the absence of wires/pantograph.
